Who are we? The Greater Glens Falls Central Labor Council

The Greater Glens Falls Central Labor Council was originally Organized in 1901 as the Glens Falls Trade And Labor Assembly, and met at 117 Glen Street.  At the turn of the century 15 labor unions advocated "... to maintain the dignity of Labor in Glens Falls and vicinity: centralization of all bona fide Trade And Labor Organizations into one body, for the better assistance of individual bodies in case of trouble between employer and employee in regards to wages, working conditions, lockout and of the likes; to encourage the principal and practice of conciliation and arbitration in the settlement of disputes between the Employees and workers and promotion of Labor Legislation ...".
